The Painted Turtle Gang

WANTED! Gang Members to help assemble quilts. We have quilt tops that just need binding, quilt tops needing to be quilted, tops needing the turtle, machine appliqued on, and we have strips cut that need to be sewn together. If you are interested in helping do any of the above please contact Darly at 818-957-2287.

The Painted Turtle Camp is the most recent addition to Paul Newman's family of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses. The Painted Turtle Camp will provide a meaningful, medically safe camp experience for children ages 7 to 16 at no cost to the child or his or her family. They will be able to swim, fish, make arts and crafts projects, horseback ride, play basketball, and many other great activities.

The camp Opened last summer at Lake Hughes and needs turtle lap quilts, and knit/crochet afghans. All items made will be given to future campers to take home with them as a reminder of their camp experience.

Help us fill this new camp with quilts and afghans.

Dear Quilting Friends~

SUMMER IS HERE!

You can now REGISTER ONLINE on our Class page for classes at Quilt'n' Things as we have added a secure shopping cart service for your protection and ours. We have wonderful classes that teach the art of quiltmaking to every age group, including kids age 7 and up. Our teaching staff is exceptional. They are knowledgeable quilter's, great instructors, patient, kind, and humorous.

In addition to great classes we have fabulous trunk shows. Join designer & surfer Rob Appell Saturday, July 23rd, 10am-5pm for Meet the Artist & Trunk Show. Rob Appell blends his love for the ocean with his work as a textile artist and designer. Most of his quilts bring the feel of artists Christian Lassen and Robert Wyland. Sign up for Rob's Quick Fuse Seascape Quilt Workshop, Friday, July 22nd, 9:30am-5:30pm. Take a look at our Events page.

Our newest Quilt Clubs include "Nancy's Kit Kat Club", "LET'S GO DOTTY!", "Darly's Angels", "Pat's Embroidery Club", and "Kid's Can Quilt". See Events page for more info.

We currently have two Opportunity Quilts on display at the shop. Tickets are $1 each or 25 tickets for $20. Proceeds from Flourishes will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research and the proceeds from Boo Too You! will go to The Painted Turtle Camp. Quilts can be viewed at our Online Store.

Come in and check out the new Janome 6500 quilting machine. Sew all your projects and quilts with it's wonderful sewing features then push a button to drop your feed dogs and quilt at 1000 stitches per minute.

Register now for OOQ MYSTERY QUILT WEEKEND Saturday, August 6th & Sunday, August 7th. Class includes mystery quilt pattern from Art To Live With, continental breakfast, and lunch both days. Class will be help across the street from Quilt'n' Things at the CitiBank community room so we have lots of room.
